Troopers said two drivers were critically injured and three children suffered minor injuries following a two vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on State Road 70 in Manatee County.
Manatee County, FL.- Five people were injured following a two vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on State Road 70, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on September 6 west of Mobley Pond Lane.
Troopers said a 42 year old Archer man was driving a 2010 Honda Accord westbound on State Road 70 when he entered the eastbound lane while traveling through a curve.
The westbound Honda collided with a 2021 Honda Accord driven by a 42 year old Boynton Beach man.
Following the collision, both vehicles rotated and came to rest in a grassy ditch.
Both drivers suffered critical injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Three girls from Boynton Beach, ages 7, 10, and 15, were passengers in the eastbound Honda.
All three children suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the conditions of the two critically injured drivers.
The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
