Police said a white car was traveling westbound on Belmont Avenue when he ignored a traffic signal and crashed into a blue SUV heading northbound on Cumberland.

Belmont Terrace, IL. – A man in his 40s was killed following a two-vehicle accident early Friday morning in Belmont Terrace, according to the Chicago Police.
The accident occurred at about 2:10 a.m. July 4 in the 3200 block of North Cumberland Avenue near Belmont Avenue.
Police said a white car was traveling westbound on Belmont Avenue when he ignored a traffic signal and crashed into a blue SUV heading northbound on Cumberland.
The white car driver, a man believed to be between 40 and 48 years, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Loyola Hospital where he was declared dead. His name was not immediately provided.
The 30-year-old SUV driver was not hurt in the crash and he declined medical attention at the accident scene.
No citations were issued.
An investigation is ongoing.
