Authorities said a woman suffered critical injuries after a semi truck reportedly turned into the path of her passenger vehicle on State Road 13 near the Madison and Hamilton County line.
Madison County, IN.- A woman was critically injured following an accident involving a passenger vehicle and a semi truck on State Road 13.
The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on September 10 at State Road 13 and Strawtown Avenue, also known as West 8th Street Road.
According to the initial report, the woman was driving north on State Road 13 while a semi truck was traveling south.
Authorities said the semi truck reportedly failed to yield and turned in front of the woman’s vehicle.
The passenger vehicle then struck the semi truck, leaving the woman trapped inside her vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to extricate the critically injured woman.
She was initially transported to an area hospital before being airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for further treatment.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the woman’s condition or identity.
All northbound and southbound lanes of State Road 13 were closed following the collision while emergency crews assisted those involved and investigators worked at the scene.
Traffic control was provided near the affected roadway during the closure.
