Authorities said three people were killed following a two vehicle accident late Saturday night at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Snipes Pump Road near Mabton.
Mabton, WA.- Three people were killed and several others were injured following a two vehicle accident late Saturday night near Mabton.
The accident occurred shortly before midnight on July 18 at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Snipes Pump Road between Mabton and Sunnyside.
Investigators said a Subaru Legacy was turning east onto Green Valley Road from Snipes Pump Road when it collided with a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta traveling westbound on Green Valley Road.
Three of the five occupants inside the Subaru were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and front seat passenger of the Subaru were transported to a local hospital with injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was also hospitalized.
Authorities believe intoxicants may have been a contributing factor in the accident. Investigators said the Subaru driver is expected to face three counts of vehicular homicide.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
