Tucson, AZ – The Tucson Police Department has identified the woman who died in a traffic collision that police said may have been caused by a medical condition in Tucson Thursday afternoon.

The woman was identified as 35-year-old Luccia Rose Romeo.

Reportedly, Lucia Romeo was driving east on Anklam Road when, for some reason, she crossed the median and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle operated by a 76-year-old woman.

Romeo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 76-year-old woman was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Two other people were hospitalized.

Investigators said a medical issue may have affected Romero’s driving.

The crash remains under investigation.

Tucson, AZ – The Tucson Police Department is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and three others injured in Tucson Thursday afternoon.

The deadly crash occurred around 12 p.m. on June 26 on West Anklam Road near St. Mary’s Hospital.

Authorities said a vehicle was east on Anklam Road when, for some reason, it crossed the median and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Tucson PD said the driver of the first vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Two other people were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
