According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred at the intersection of North Las Vegas Boulevard and North Lamb Boulevard at around 9:30 p.m.
A 31-year-old woman was driving a 2011 Hyundai Elantra northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard when she struck an 8-year-old crossing the street.
Paramedics transported the child to the hospital for treatment in critical condition.
