Police said a 63 year old man was killed after being struck by two vehicles in a hit and run accident early Thursday morning at West Flamingo Road and South El Capitan Way in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV.- A pedestrian was killed following a hit and run accident early Thursday morning in Las Vegas.
The accident was reported at approximately 1:21 a.m. on July 16 at the intersection of West Flamingo Road and South El Capitan Way.
Police said a 2018 BMW X4 driven by 35 year old Tomas Espino was traveling westbound on West Flamingo Road when it struck a pedestrian who was crawling northbound through a marked crosswalk against the pedestrian signal.
The impact redirected the pedestrian into the intersection. Investigators said Espino fled the scene without stopping.
Moments later, a dark colored SUV struck the pedestrian as he lay in the roadway. That driver also fled the scene while traveling westbound.
The 63 year old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities later located Espino and the BMW. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on hit and run related charges.
The driver of the SUV has not been identified.
The accident remains under investigation.
