Authorities said a motorcycle passenger was seriously injured following an accident involving a semi truck Friday morning on State Route 18 west of the Tiger Mountain Summit in King County.

King County, WA.- A motorcycle passenger was seriously injured following an accident involving a semi truck Friday morning in King County.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on August 14 on State Route 18 west of the Tiger Mountain Summit.

Authorities said the semi truck and motorcycle were traveling in the eastbound lanes when the collision occurred.

Witnesses reported that the semi truck forced the motorcycle into a barrier.

The passenger on the motorcycle suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the condition or identity of the injured passenger. Information about the motorcycle rider has also not been released.

All lanes of State Route 18 were initially blocked while emergency crews responded to the accident and investigators worked at the scene.

Westbound traffic resumed a short time later, while the eastbound lanes remained closed until approximately 10 a.m.
