Police said a man was killed after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night near State Avenue in downtown Indianapolis.
Indianapolis, IN.- A man was killed following a pedestrian accident Thursday night in Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 13 near the first block of State Avenue, between East Washington Street and Southeastern Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
The injured pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the man later died from his injuries.
The identity of the man who was killed has not been released.
Authorities have not provided additional information about the vehicle or driver involved in the collision.
The circumstances that led to the pedestrian being struck have also not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
