Authorities said one person was killed and seven others were injured following a single vehicle rollover accident Sunday evening on Interstate 57 in Harvey.
Harvey, IL.- One person was killed and seven others were injured following a rollover accident Sunday evening on Interstate 57, according to Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred around 5:48 p.m. on September 6 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 57, north of 147th Street.
Illinois State Police troopers responded to the scene following reports of a single vehicle rollover.
One occupant suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not publicly released the identity of the person who died.
Seven other occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Additional information regarding the severity of their injuries was not immediately available.
Northbound Interstate 57 and the entrance ramp from 147th Street were closed around 6:08 p.m. while emergency crews assisted those involved and investigators examined the accident scene.
Authorities have not released information about what caused the vehicle to overturn.
