Mead taken to OSF Saint Katherine Medical Center in Dixon with minor injuries

Oregon, IL – A pedestrian who was hit and injured by a car at an intersection in Oregon has been identified.
The Oregon Police Department identified the injured pedestrian as Gary Mead.
Police said Mead was in a crosswalk crossing the street at 4th Street and Washington Street when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Nancy Swieter.
Police said Swieter turning east onto Washington Street when she struck the pedestrian.
Mead was transported to OSF Saint Katherine Medical Center in Dixon with minor injuries
Swieter was cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

According to the police, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at 4th Street and Washington Street.
A man was walking in a crosswalk and was struck by a car turning east onto Washington Street.
The man was taken to OSF Saint Katherine Medical Center in Dixon with minor injuries.
The driver was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
