Las Vegas, NV. – A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle collision caused by a driver who ran a red light in Las Vegas on Sunday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metro Police, the accident happened around 6:24 a.m. at Eastern and Stewart avenues.

23-year-old Raul Castorena, of Las Vegas, was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on Stewart when he reportedly ran a red light and crashed into a Volkswagen that was turning left onto Stewart from Eastern.

The Toyota then hit a stopped Nissan Rogue at the intersection. The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to hit a stopped semi-truck.

The 42-year-old driver of the Volkswagen had to be extricated before being taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Castorena was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The Nissan driver complained of pain.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
