Nevada State Police said eight people were injured following a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 50 and State Route 28 near the Spooner Lake Recreation Area.
Douglas County, NV.- Eight people were injured following a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Douglas County, according to the Nevada State Police.
The accident occurred around 1:22 p.m. on August 1 at the intersection of U.S. 50 and State Route 28 near the Spooner Lake Recreation Area.
Authorities said the collision involved an SUV and a pickup truck.
One person sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.
Seven other people were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions while emergency crews responded to the scene and cleared the roadway.
Motorists experienced delays for several hours.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
