Authorities said a 70 year old woman was killed and several others were injured following a head on accident Thursday afternoon on IN 32 in eastern Delaware County.
Muncie, IN.- One person was killed and multiple others were injured following a head on accident Thursday afternoon near Muncie.
The accident occurred shortly after 5:10 p.m. on July 16 on IN 32 near County Road 800 East in eastern Delaware County.
According to preliminary findings, an eastbound SUV attempted to pass another vehicle before crossing into the westbound lane and colliding head on with an oncoming SUV.
The driver of the eastbound SUV, identified as 70 year old Jama Clevenger of Muncie, sustained critical injuries and was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where she later died.
The westbound SUV was occupied by an adult driver, an adult front seat passenger, and a young child secured in a child safety seat.
All three occupants were transported to the same hospital. Authorities said the adult passenger suffered life threatening injuries and was expected to be transferred to a hospital in Indianapolis.
The conditions of the driver and the child have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
