Authorities said a juvenile bicyclist was seriously injured after a collision involving a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at Ellsworth and Sherman streets in Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake, IL.- A juvenile bicyclist was seriously injured following an accident involving a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Crystal Lake.
The accident occurred around 3:05 p.m. on September 2 at the intersection of Ellsworth Street and Sherman Street.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection after receiving reports that a vehicle and bicyclist had been involved in a collision.
Due to the severity of the reported injuries, a medical helicopter was placed on standby while first responders provided medical assistance to the child.
The injured bicyclist was transported to a nearby landing zone and transferred to the medical helicopter crew.
The child was then airlifted to a Level I trauma center for further treatment.
Authorities said the juvenile remained in serious but stable condition following the accident.
The child’s family was notified of the collision.
