Authorities said a motorcyclist was killed after a sedan turned into his path Monday afternoon on Bird Road near Red Road in Coral Gables.
Coral Gables, FL.- A motorcyclist was killed following a collision involving a sedan Monday afternoon in Coral Gables.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on September 7 on Southwest 40th Street, also known as Bird Road.
According to the initial report, a Hyundai Sonata was traveling westbound on Bird Road before attempting to turn onto 57th Avenue, also known as Red Road.
The turn placed the Hyundai in the path of an approaching Kawasaki motorcycle.
The motorcyclist struck the Hyundai and was thrown from his motorcycle following the impact.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not publicly released the identity of the motorcyclist.
It was not immediately known whether the Hyundai driver would receive a citation or face charges in connection with the collision.
