Troopers said a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning on US 98 near West Ashburn Lane in Citrus County.
Citrus County, FL.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident involving a vehicle Tuesday morning in Citrus County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on August 18 on US 98 just north of West Ashburn Lane.
Troopers said 32 year old Timothy Tyler Corcoran of Dunnellon was driving a Nissan Xterra north on US 98 when the vehicle struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.
Following their initial investigation, troopers arrested Corcoran on a charge of driving under the influence.
Additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
