Police said four people were seriously injured following a wrong way three vehicle accident early Thursday morning on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago.
Chicago, IL.- Four people were injured following a three vehicle wrong way accident Thursday morning on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
The accident occurred around 1:48 a.m. on September 3 in the 400 block of North Lake Shore Drive.
Police said a black SUV carrying two men was traveling north in the southbound lanes when it collided with a white SUV.
The impact pushed the white SUV into a white sedan, resulting in a three vehicle collision.
Both men traveling in the black SUV suffered injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Two adults traveling in the white sedan were also injured and transported to hospitals.
Authorities said all four injured people were listed in serious condition.
The accident occurred near the location of a bridge malfunction. However, officials said the malfunction was not believed to be connected to the collision.
Additional information about the occupants of the white SUV or what caused the black SUV to travel the wrong way has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
