Authorities said a Chicago police officer and a passenger were injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at Archer Avenue and Nagle Avenue in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood.
Chicago, IL.- Two people were injured following an accident involving a Chicago police squad car and a sedan Thursday afternoon on the Southwest Side.
The accident occurred around 4:39 p.m. on August 27 at the intersection of Archer Avenue and Nagle Avenue in Garfield Ridge.
Police said an officer was driving a squad car on Archer Avenue and attempting to turn into a parking lot when the police vehicle was struck by a sedan.
The officer suffered a neck injury in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the officer was listed in fair condition.
A 36 year old woman who was riding as a passenger in the sedan suffered injuries to her right arm and leg.
She was also transported to a hospital and listed in fair condition.
The sedan was driven by a 38 year old man who declined medical attention following the accident.
Police said no citations were issued in connection with the collision.
