Carlsbad, N.M. – A 19-year-old minibike rider was killed in a crash on Sunday night in Carlsbad.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the accident occurred in the 3700 block of Standpipe Road at around 11:30 a.m.
A 19-year-old man was riding a minibike southbound on Standpipe when he was struck by a vehicle.
The driver involved fled the scene without offering aid and was yet to be located.
Medical personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
