Phoenix, AZ – The authorities are investigating a deadly crash involving a dirt bike and a truck at an intersection in Phoenix on Wednesday night.

The deadly collision occurred around 10 p.m. on June 25 at 16th Street and Southern Avenue.

A preliminary investigation showed that the dirt bike was heading southbound on 16th Street when it struck a truck turning left.

Responding officers located two people on the ground beside the dirt bike. The driver of the truck was also at the scene.

The man and the woman who were on the bike were transported to the hospital. The woman, identified as 19-year-old Britney Vasquez Gomez, later died from her injuries.

The man remains hospitalized and is expected to survive.

Investigators said the truck driver was evaluated for impairment and processed for DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.
