Authorities said a 67 year old Bridge City man was killed after a pickup truck left the roadway and struck his parked minivan before pushing it into a home Thursday morning in Bridge City.
Bridge City, TX.- One person was killed and another was injured following an accident Thursday morning in Bridge City, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on July 16 at the intersection of SH 87 and SH 62.
Investigators said a 2020 Ford pickup truck was traveling southbound on SH 87 when it continued through the intersection, entered a private driveway, and struck a parked 2019 Dodge Caravan.
The impact pushed the minivan into a nearby residence.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, identified as 67 year old Gabino Carranza of Bridge City, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Carranza’s 61 year old wife, who was inside the home at the time of the collision, sustained non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford pickup, identified as 69 year old Michael Heimbach of Orange, was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
