Authorities said two people were killed following a three vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Interstate 10 near Benson.
Benson, AZ.- Two people were killed following a three vehicle accident Sunday morning on Interstate 10 near Benson.
The accident occurred on August 16 on eastbound Interstate 10 near milepost 300.
According to the initial report, Hunter Susan Milo Barrows of Vail was driving eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle.
Authorities said Barrows’ vehicle crossed the median and sideswiped an oncoming vehicle before becoming lodged beneath the trailer of a semi truck.
Barrows, 26, was killed in the accident.
Luciano L. Johnson, 25, of Rio Rico, was traveling with Barrows at the time of the collision. Johnson was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released additional information about the occupants of the other vehicle or the semi truck involved in the accident.
The circumstances that caused Barrows to lose control of the vehicle have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
