Police said a man was killed after being struck by a train Monday morning near the Reed Market Road railroad crossing in Bend.
Bend, OR.- A pedestrian was killed following a train accident Monday morning in Bend, according to Bend Police.
The accident occurred around 4:38 a.m. on July 20 near the Reed Market Road railroad crossing.
Authorities said a BNSF train conductor reported striking a pedestrian. Responding officers found the man unconscious on the west side of the tracks.
Officers began CPR at the scene before the man was transported to St. Charles Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family.
Police have not said why the man was on the tracks.
Reed Market Road was closed in both directions for about two hours while investigators processed the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
