Authorities said multiple drivers were injured following a multi vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 405 near NE 8th Street in Bellevue.
Bellevue, WA.- Multiple drivers were injured following a multi vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Bellevue.
The accident was reported shortly before 3:45 p.m. on August 19 in the southbound Interstate 405 express toll lanes near NE 8th Street.
Washington State Department of Transportation traffic officials said the express toll lanes were blocked because of the injury accident.
Washington State Patrol troopers and Bellevue Fire crews responded to the scene to assist those involved in the collision.
Authorities confirmed multiple drivers suffered injuries in the accident.
The number of vehicles involved and the total number of people injured have not been released.
Authorities have also not provided additional information regarding the severity of the reported injuries.
The southbound Interstate 405 express toll lanes remained blocked while emergency crews assisted the injured and investigators worked at the scene. No estimated reopening time was initially available.
The collision occurred during the Wednesday afternoon commute and caused traffic delays for drivers traveling through the Bellevue area.
