1 Killed, 3 Teens Hurt in Head-On Accident on State Road 11 in Bartholomew County

Authorities said a Seymour man was killed and three teenagers were injured following a two vehicle head on accident Thursday morning on State Road 11 in southern Bartholomew County.

Bartholomew County, IN.- One person was killed and three teenagers were injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday morning in Bartholomew County, according to Indiana State Police.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on August 20 on State Road 11 near County Road 800 South.

Indiana State Police said a 17 year old girl was driving on State Road 11 when her vehicle crossed the centerline and entered oncoming traffic.

The teenager’s car then collided head on with another vehicle.

Both vehicles left the roadway following the collision.

The 17 year old driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 18 year old Aparicio, was also transported to a hospital. A 15 year old passenger in the same vehicle was hospitalized for treatment as well.

The front seat passenger in that vehicle, identified as 42 year old Pascual Balta­zar Pascual of Seymour, suffered fatal injuries and died as a result of the accident.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the conditions of the three teenagers who were injured.

The accident remains under investigation, with toxicology results pending.
