Collier County, FL. -. A 96-year-old man was killed after a wrong-way collision on Wednesday afternoon in Collier County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on I-75 at mile marker 110 a while after 4:00 a.m. on March 18.

Troopers said a 24-year-old woman from Naples was heading northbound on the southbound side of I-75 in a 2014 Nissan Rogue when she struck two other cars head-on.

A 96-year-old man, a 2025 Volvo XC60 SUV driver, one of the two southbound vehicles, sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.

A 57-year-old man from Nashua, New Hampshire, the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Suburban, the second southbound car, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The wrong-way driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She was later arrested and charged for DUI.
