Portland, OR. – Four women were injured after being hit by a car on Thursday night in Portland.

The accident happened near the intersection of Northwest 4th Avenue and Couch Street, according to Portland police.

Bars were closing when a fight broke out. Police responded to the scene and broke up the scuffle.

A crowd that had gathered started to disperse when the driver of a 2018 Ford Mustang traveling east on Couch Street ran a stop sign and plowed through a group crossing the street.

Four women were struck and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, identified as 32-year-old Tyler William Miller, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
