Highlands County, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision that killed a 36-year-old Labelle man and left a 44-year-old Labelle woman with severe injuries on Friday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 5:41 p.m. on June 27, on southbound U.S. Highway 27, north of Archibald Road.

Troopers said the man was driving a pickup truck southbound when he entered the center divider, rotated and rolled over for unknown reasons.

The male driver, not wearing a seat belt at the time, was thrown off his vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.

The woman, also riding in the truck, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
