2 Killed in Car Crash on Florida Turnpike in Osceola County

Troopers said a vehicle was heading southbound on the Florida Turnpike when the car drove off the roadway and struck the inside concrete barrier. The car then overcorrected and headed to the right, across the freeway, rolled over and struck another barrier on the right side.

Osceola County, FL. – Two people died after a traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon in Saint Cloud in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 6:00 p.m. on June 23 on the Florida Turnpike at mile marker 240.

Troopers said a vehicle was heading southbound on the Florida Turnpike when the car drove off the roadway and struck the inside concrete barrier. The car then overcorrected and headed to the right, across the freeway, rolled over and struck another barrier on the right side.

The driver, a 56-year-old man from Kissimmee, was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The passenger, a 65-year-old woman from Kissimmee, was ejected from the car and was declared dead at the scene.
