2 Injured in Major Concrete Mixer Truck Crash on State Road 9 in Anderson, Indiana

Authorities said a red 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo was heading south on SR9 when it struck the guardrail on the road’s west side in unclear circumstances. The vehicle then drove across all the southbound lanes and hit a median.

2 Hospitalized After Mixer Truck Accident on State Road 9 and Scatterfield Road

Anderson, IN. –  A 28-year-old man and 62-year-old man were injured following a collision involving a concrete mixer truck on Wednesday morning in Anderson, Madison County.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened a while before 9:30 a.m. at N. State Road 9 and Scatterfield Road.

Authorities said a red 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo was heading south on SR9 when it struck the guardrail on the road’s west side in unclear circumstances. The vehicle then drove across all the southbound lanes and hit a median.

The Monte Carlo then went airborne and landed in the northbound lanes of SR9 where it crashed into a southbound concrete truck.

The Monte Carlo driver, a 28-year-old man, sustained significant internal injuries and was rushed to Community Hospital in Anderson.

The concrete mixer truck driver, a 62-year-old man, was also transported to Community Hospital and has since been released

An investigation is ongoing.
