Scottsdale AZ – At least two people are hospitalized following a serious crash that shut parts of Loop 101 for hours in East Valley Saturday afternoon.
The major injury collision happened around 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Loop 101 near Shea Boulevard.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) said a vehicle stalled in the roadway and was struck by another vehicle.
DPS said at least two people suffered serious injuries in the crash and were transported to the hospital.
DOT said southbound lanes of Loop 101 were closed at Cactus Road, and the Cactus Road on-ramp to Loop 101 southbound was closed due to the crash.
The roadway has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
