Phoenix, AZ. – A woman died after being struck by a car in Phoenix early Monday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened around 2:15 a.m. in the area of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road.
A minivan was traveling northbound on 27th Avenue when it struck the woman.
The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she died the following day.
The driver, 45-year-old Deana Shugart, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
More details about the accident were not released.
