Police said a person walking on the sidewalk on Northeast 181st Avenue near Northeast Pacific Street at around 5:30 p.m. on May 31 when they were hit by a vehicle.

Gresham, OR – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car at an intersection in Gresham on Saturday evening, Gresham Police Department said.

Police said a person walking on the sidewalk on Northeast 181st Avenue near Northeast Pacific Street at around 5:30 p.m. on May 31 when they were hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle reportedly crashed into a power pole after striking the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gresham police said the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The roadway was shut down for several hours Saturday night during on-scene investigation but has since reopened.

The incident remains under investigation.
