Glenview, IL – One person was killed and two others were injured following a wrong-way traffic collision on the Tri-State Tollway in Glenview, Illinois, Wednesday morning.
The deadly crash happened at about 1:54 a.m. on northbound I-294 near Gold Road.
Illinois State Police said a car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 294 and collided with a box truck
The driver heading the wrong way died at the scene, ISP said.
The driver and passenger of the truck were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
All northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down just north of Golf Road overnight and reopened before 7 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
