Phoenix, AZ (May 28,2018)- A west Phoenix accident resulted in a man’s death, who was later identified as Lorenzo Davis Jr. He was struck by two cars around McDowell Road and 51st Avenue.
Authorities responded around 10:30 pm, where witnesses informed investigators that the man who was killed was crossing McDowell Road outside of the crosswalk, mid-block, when he was struck by a blue SUV traveling east. According to officials, the SUV continued driving after the collision.
According to a police spokeswoman, shortly after the victim was hit the first time, a second car hit the man, who was still in the road. The second vehicle also left the scene. A witness followed the vehicle and located the abandoned vehicle shortly afterwards.
Lorenzo Davis Jr. unfortunately died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
