Lakeland, FL – An elderly woman was killed in a car accident that took place in Lakeland on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place on South Florida Avenue near Shepherd Road at about 4 p.m. on March 25.
According to the report, an 80-year-old Mulberry woman driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Florida Avenue when she had a medical episode.
The Corolla collided with an oncoming 2014 Toyota that was trying to make a left turn into a business.
After the collision, the Corolla went across the grass shoulder into a business parking lot, where it slammed into a parked car.
The elderly driver was rushed to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
There were no other injuries in the accident.
