Police said a 3 year old boy and a 34 year old man were critically injured after being struck by an SUV Saturday evening on East Craig Road near Puebla Street in northeast Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV.- A 3 year old boy and a 34 year old man were critically injured following a pedestrian accident Saturday evening in northeast Las Vegas.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on September 6 on East Craig Road near Puebla Street.
Authorities said a Mitsubishi Outlander carrying two passengers was traveling west on Craig Road when three pedestrians attempted to cross the roadway.
According to the initial investigation, the pedestrians were crossing outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.
Police said the 34 year old man was carrying the 3 year old boy when he stepped from a concrete median and entered the path of the approaching Mitsubishi.
The SUV struck the man and child.
A 22 year old woman who was also crossing the roadway avoided being struck.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the man and boy to University Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities said both suffered critical injuries and remained in critical condition following the collision.
Additional information about the SUV driver or whether any citations were issued has not been released.
