Authorities said a 58 year old Sanford man was killed following a three vehicle accident Friday evening on Celery Avenue in Sanford.
Sanford, FL.- A motorcyclist was killed following a three vehicle accident Friday evening on Celery Avenue.
The accident occurred around 5:31 p.m. on September 4 near North Beardall Avenue.
Authorities said the 58 year old Sanford man was riding a 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 westbound on Celery Avenue.
At the same time, a 25 year old Deltona man was driving a 2013 Ford Focus eastbound on Celery Avenue.
According to the initial report, the Ford driver attempted to pass traffic in a no passing zone and entered the westbound lane.
The Ford then collided head on with the motorcycle, throwing the rider from the bike.
After striking the motorcycle, the Ford rotated and collided with the rear left side of a 2007 Toyota Avalon traveling eastbound on Celery Avenue.
The Toyota was driven by a 56 year old Deltona man.
Both drivers remained at the accident scene and were not injured.
Emergency crews transported the motorcyclist to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not publicly released the motorcyclist’s identity.
The fatal accident remains under investigation.
