Authorities said a motorcyclist was killed following a collision with an SUV Friday at State Road 7 and EF Johns Parkway in Boca Raton.
Boca Raton, FL.- A motorcyclist was killed following a two vehicle accident Friday at State Road 7 and EF Johns Parkway.
The accident occurred on September 4 and involved a Yamaha motorcycle and a Chevrolet Equinox.
According to the initial investigation, the motorcycle was traveling northbound in the center lane of State Road 7.
At the same time, the Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound on EF Johns Parkway.
Authorities said the SUV driver attempted to make a left turn and crossed into the path of the approaching motorcycle.
The front of the Yamaha struck the left rear door of the Chevrolet.
The impact threw the motorcyclist from the bike.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the rider later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities have not publicly released the identity of the motorcyclist.
Additional information about the SUV driver or whether anyone else was injured has not been released.
The fatal accident remains under investigation.
