Police said a 62 year old man was critically injured after being struck by a van Tuesday morning on East Mountridge Drive near North Hollywood Boulevard in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV.- A 62 year old man suffered life threatening injuries following an accident involving a Ford Transit van Tuesday morning in Las Vegas.
The accident occurred around 7:37 a.m. on September 2 on East Mountridge Drive near North Hollywood Boulevard.
Authorities said a truck with an attached landscaping trailer was parked along the curb while the 62 year old man was removing equipment from the left side of the trailer.
At the same time, a Ford Transit van was traveling west on Mountridge Drive.
Police said the van drifted to the right and struck the rear of the landscaping trailer before hitting the worker.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the 62 year old man to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Another person was inside the trailer retrieving equipment when the collision occurred. That person suffered minor injuries.
The Ford Transit was driven by a 29 year old who remained at the scene and cooperated with emergency personnel and investigators.
Authorities have not released the identity of the critically injured man.
Additional information about what caused the van to drift toward the trailer has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
