14-Year-Old Boy Critically Hurt in Pedestrian Accident on Boulder Highway in Las Vegas

Police said a 14 year old boy was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon while crossing Boulder Highway near Russell Road in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, NV.- A 14 year old boy was critically injured following a pedestrian accident Wednesday afternoon on Boulder Highway.

The accident occurred around 4:07 p.m. on September 2 in the 6600 block of Boulder Highway near Russell Road.

Police said the teenager was crossing Boulder Highway from east to west in a crosswalk north of South Broadbent Boulevard.

At the same time, a 2022 Ram 1500 was traveling north in the left lane of three travel lanes and approaching the crossing.

Authorities said the right front of the pickup truck struck the boy’s left side, throwing him into the roadway.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the teenager to Sunrise Trauma for treatment.

Authorities said the boy suffered critical injuries.

County officials later confirmed that the crosswalk lights were activated while the teenager was crossing Boulder Highway.

The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment.

The accident remains under investigation.
