Authorities said two people were hospitalized following a multi vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon involving at least five vehicles on the Murray Baker Bridge in East Peoria.
East Peoria, IL.- Two people were injured following a multi vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 74 in East Peoria.
The accident occurred around 4:35 p.m. on September 2 in the eastbound lanes of the Murray Baker Bridge.
The collision occurred on the Tazewell County side of the bridge, which carries Interstate 74 across the Illinois River between East Peoria and Peoria.
Authorities said at least five vehicles were involved in the pileup.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and provided medical assistance to those involved in the collision.
Two people suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Other people involved in the accident were evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene but declined additional medical treatment.
Authorities have not released the identities of the injured people or additional information regarding the severity of their injuries.
The collision disrupted eastbound traffic on Interstate 74 while emergency crews assisted those involved and worked to clear the accident scene.
