Authorities said one person was killed and five others were injured following a four vehicle accident Sunday on State Route 101 near Cardinals Way in Glendale.
Glendale, AZ.- One person was killed and five others were injured following a multi vehicle accident Sunday on State Route 101 in Glendale.
The accident occurred on August 31 near Cardinals Way and involved four vehicles.
According to the initial investigation, a gray SUV rear ended another vehicle, triggering a chain reaction collision involving the other vehicles.
Authorities said one of the vehicles involved in the accident left the scene following the collision.
A passenger identified as 28 year old Crystal Armenta Moreno of Tucson suffered serious injuries in the accident.
Moreno was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where she later died from her injuries.
Five other people involved in the collision were also transported to hospitals. Authorities said their injuries were considered non life threatening.
Initial information indicates impairment may have contributed to the fatal collision.
Authorities have not released additional information about the driver or vehicle that left the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
