Man Killed, Woman Seriously Hurt in DUI Accident in Orlando

Troopers said a 29 year old Connecticut man was killed and a 23 year old woman was seriously injured following a two vehicle accident Sunday morning at Central Florida Parkway and International Drive in Orlando.

Orlando, FL.- One man was killed and several others were injured following a two vehicle accident Sunday morning in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on August 30 at Central Florida Parkway and International Drive.

According to troopers, one of the vehicles was driven by 19 year old Christopher Laureda of Orlando and reportedly ran a red light before colliding with another car.

The impact caused Laureda’s vehicle to overturn onto its left side.

A 29 year old Connecticut man involved in the collision suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities said he later died from his injuries.

A 23 year old Connecticut woman who was traveling with him was also transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers said Laureda left the accident scene on foot following the collision. Three passengers in his vehicle remained at the scene and suffered minor injuries.

Authorities later located and detained Laureda before placing him under arrest.

Troopers said Laureda faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and DUI manslaughter.

The fatal accident remains under investigation.
