E-Bike Rider Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on 34th Street in St. Petersburg

Police said a man riding an e bike was injured after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run accident early Monday morning on 34th Street North in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg, FL.- An e bike rider was injured following a hit and run accident Monday morning in St. Petersburg, according to police.

The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on August 31 in the 200 block of 34th Street North.

Authorities said the man was riding his e bike northbound on 34th Street when he was struck by a Honda Accord.

Following the collision, the driver exited the Honda and fled the area on foot.

Police said the driver had not been located as of Monday morning.

The e bike rider suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released the identity of the injured rider.

Additional information about the driver who fled or the circumstances leading up to the collision has not been released.

Police continue working to identify and locate the driver.

The hit and run accident remains under investigation.
