Road Worker Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident in Gresham

Police said a road construction worker was seriously injured after being struck by a hit and run driver Monday morning near Northeast Hogan Drive and Division Street in Gresham.

Gresham, OR.- A road construction worker was seriously injured following a hit and run accident Monday morning in Gresham, according to police.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. on August 31 near Northeast Hogan Drive and Division Street.

Authorities said a light colored sedan struck the construction worker while the person was working in the area.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene before officers arrived.

Emergency crews responded and transported the injured worker to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the worker’s condition or identity.

The Gresham Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Team responded to investigate the collision.

Hogan Drive was closed between Division Street and Burnside Road while investigators examined the scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Police have not released additional information about the light colored sedan or the driver involved.

The hit and run accident remains under investigation.
