Pedestrian Killed in Truck Accident near McCormick Road and Kernan Boulevard in Jacksonville

Authorities said a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a truck Wednesday morning near McCormick Road and Kernan Boulevard North in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville, FL.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident involving a truck Wednesday morning in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred on August 26 near the intersection of McCormick Road and Kernan Boulevard North.

Emergency crews responded to the area after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a truck.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who was killed.

The accident caused traffic delays near the intersection while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.

Drivers were advised to use alternate routes and allow additional travel time while the investigation affected traffic in the area.

The initial report did not indicate whether the pedestrian was within a crosswalk when the collision occurred.

Authorities have also not released information about the truck driver or whether any citations have been issued.

The fatal collision occurred two days after a separate pedestrian accident on Park Street in Jacksonville’s Brooklyn neighborhood. In that incident, a pedestrian was struck by an SUV and later died at a hospital.
