Authorities said one person was killed and two others were hospitalized following a two vehicle accident Thursday night at Route 10 East and Plow Road in Clinton.
Clinton, IL.- One person was killed and two others were injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday night in Clinton, according to the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident occurred on August 20 at Route 10 East and Plow Road.
Illinois State Police and DeWitt County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Authorities said an eastbound vehicle and a westbound vehicle collided on Route 10.
The driver of the westbound vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:15 p.m., according to the DeWitt County Coroner’s Office.
A passenger traveling in the westbound vehicle was injured in the collision and airlifted to a hospital in Champaign for treatment.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was also injured and transported by ambulance to a Champaign hospital.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the conditions of the two people who were hospitalized.
The identity of the person who died is being withheld pending notification of family members.
