Authorities said a woman and a 9 year old girl were injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at Green Street and Odin Road in Marion County.
Salem, IL.- Two people were injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon near Salem, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred on August 20 at the intersection of Green Street and Odin Road.
According to preliminary information, a pickup truck driven by 35 year old Donnie Keller was stopped at the northbound stop sign at Zion Hill Road.
Authorities said Keller then pulled across Green Street, where the pickup truck was struck on its side by a car driven by 27 year old Latavia Maines of Cedar Avenue in Salem.
Maines and a 9 year old girl who was riding in her vehicle were injured in the collision.
Both were transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Air Evac was called to the hospital helipad by Life Star Ambulance following the accident. Authorities did not immediately confirm whether either patient was later flown to a regional hospital for additional treatment.
Keller was not injured in the collision.
Additional information regarding the conditions of Maines and the 9 year old girl has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
